Current Competitors

There are currently many solutions to the technology that we are trying to create. I have not been able to find any stadiometers that are the exact same concept as our idea, however, there are many that are close. The field in which we are trying to set ourselves apart is in the budget. One leading competitor that uses sonar technology to quickly and accurately measure the height of patients is Detecto SONARIS Sonar Stadiometer, which costs about $275. As of now the sensors that we are looking at for our own stadiometer are about $7 which would leave us a lot of room for additional add-ons like a digital print out, Arduino system, and other hardware. However, for now we have no idea if these sensors are going to meet our needs.

Detecto SONARIS Sonar Stadiometer specs

“Triangulates the top of the head quickly” (http://www.detecto.com/cs_product/sonaris-touchless-sonar-stadiometer/)
Left unclear about how these calculations are made
